this and that

it's been kind of a hectic last couple of weeks with mandy and the kids getting ready to move to maui. i went over with them to help out, and they are all moved in now. everyone is happy, especially lil and ez who now have a fenced back yard to play in, and a blow-up pool to "swim" in, and brand new bikes to ride on. auntie sarah and auntie titi are happy that their new housemates are finally there. sarah and the kids decided to form a band and they are calling themselves "the jammies" (get it? - jamming in their jammies).
i made a couple of cards last week for my sister, heather. i used last week monday's "mojo monday" sketch for both of them. i am going to try to get back to crafting every day and get a head start on getting things together for the calvary chapel craft fair in december. i've gotten lazy lately, and i need to get motivated again. thanks for stopping by. be blessed!

i finally made something!

i actually made 2 things!  i thought my mojo had left me, never to return.  but it's back, and i'm starting to have "crafty" ideas again.  i am always so happy when i spend time at my craft table.  it got so darned hot over here and i was so uncomfortable, that i couldn't bring myself to sit at my table during the day.  anyway, enough of my rambling.  i made a poster for a baby's first birthday party.  i was very pleased with the finished product, but omgoodness, it was really tough for a while.  a poster is SOOO much bigger than a card!!! the baby's dad is a big-time packers fan, hence the green bay theme. i hope they liked it.

i also made a card for my sis, heather.  when i saw the digi kit "jen & dean" by libby weifenbach, which was created for my friend jen tapler on maui, based on her son dean's bedding, i knew i had to get it, except that i didn't have a good excuse. until i needed to make a card for a 15 year old boy on the mainland who loves anything hawaii...yay!   

i'm trying my darndest (how do you spell that word?) to get over this cold that got the best of me last week, and then we're off to maui for the weekend, to see sarah.  i'm getting really excited!  have a wonderful july 4th weekend!  we live in the greatest nation in the world!  i pray that GOD will bless America.

has it really been that long?

i guess it has been quite a while since i last posted. i think i was just busy and maybe lazy, and i forgot to take pictures of a whole bunch of cards and journals that i made for a little craft fair i participated in. oh well . . . i'll try to do better in the future. i don't really have much of anything to tell you, either. boy, i'm boring! anyway, i'll leave you with some kinda recent pics: a "God is love" card, henry trying to decide what show to watch, and a couple of the kids at their may day program. have a blessed day!

today was a good day!

today was a very good day. i didn't have to go anywhere or do anything in particular. I read my bible, did laundry, checked emails, blurfed, walked the dog, shopped online, downloaded digi kits, and went out to dinner with hubby. i even made this card when we got home. the turquoise lace was my mom's from the days when she used to sew her own clothes...it's probably about 30 years old. cool, huh? hope you like it, let me know what you think. have a glorious Easter weekend!

raspberry suite color challenge #3

it's time for another raspberry suite color challenge. i was so bummed last week because i missed the deadline to post my card. maybe i'll post it some other day just so you can see it. sorry part of this picture is cut off. for some unknown reason i could not get it sized correctly. oh well . . .

i had a little bit of a hard time finding papers that met dawn's criteria and looked good together. i think the ones that i settled on go together well, and i am pleased with this card. i hope you like it too! thanks for looking!

happy birthday henry!!!

today is henry's 2nd birthday! we decided to get something for dinner that we could all eat, so we got a smoked chicken from whole foods. we also picked up frozen red bliss potato wedges and sweet potato fries. henry had his chicken with hapa rice and peas. everything was so good and we all enjoyed henry's birthday dinner together. we are so blessed to have him, and i think he feels blessed to have us.

a challenge for a cause

my friend jen tapler, who lives on maui, is hosting a challenge that will benefit the alzheimer's association. you can win big-time blog candy if you participate. go on over to her blog and check it out. this is the card that i made for the challenge, that i will be mailing to jen. i used a digi kit from designer digitals called milly molly, american crafts cs, some twill from su! and a tiny brad from my stash. {are you so proud of me, jen?}

i'm sooooo excited! i have been wanting a laptop for a long time, but they are costly and my hubby is a very good steward of our money so i have had to wait. well, my sweetie-pie  finally gave in and we went to the apple store on saturday and left with this baby! i love it!!! i'm still transferring files over and setting it up the way i want it...hopefully i'll have it all good in a couple of days. right now, milton is on the "big" mac and i'm on the "little" mac, and all is well in our little world ;-).
