milton and i were able to take a few days off and head over to maui for a short vacation last week. we were there from wednesday night until saturday night. we didn't do much, a little shopping, some relaxing, and a whole lot of eating. we had a really good time! the main purpose of the trip was for sarah and i to craft. milton decided to come along so that he and jesse could golf. here's sarah and i with our stuff heading over to jen's house for a whole day of paper crafting. we were so excited! 
here's a "candid" shot of the three of us working away (milton came over after he and jesse were done golfing, so he was able to take the picture). you'll notice that we are all looking pretty content...we had just finished scarfing down some taco bell. yummy!
when sarah and i went over to island paperie on thursday, she sneakily put together "kits" for the three of us to do. we each had to make a card using whatever of the paper we wanted, but the tricky part was that we had to use at least one of all the different embellies that were in the kit. it was so much fun...here are our finished cards. sarah's is the "happy birthday", jen's is the "hi", and mine is the one in back that says "emma".
jen made the cutest little gift for me as a thank you for a journal i gave her a while back. she actually posted it on her blog last week thursday and told sarah not to let me look at it 'cuz it was a surprise...it was killing me not to look. it's a little box decorated with digi paper and ribbon, full of hershey nuggets, and a matching card. so sweet of her!
we three ladies had a wonderful day playing with all our stuff and talking story. i think i speak for all of us when i say i'm looking forward to our next "mcd".

this is my first mojo monday sketch card. i look at the sketch every monday, i even print them out, but for some reason i never get around to making the card. i decided yesterday that i would make this a priority and i worked on it tonight while the hubby was messing around on the computer (kinda what it's like over here every night). i think i'm liking it . . . let me know what you think. blessings!
i was finally able to complete a card for the saturday sketch challenge over at paper craft planet. it seems like forever since i've done one. i used digi papers again, so much fun! i forget where i got the kit, but it was free with any purchase, and it's called corina march sampler. i printed out all my elements individually and made the card like i would with 'regular' paper and embellies. i added some bling, ribbon from my scrap bag, a rub-on for the sentiment and i decoupaged a chipboard star with some of the red design paper. it's so nice to be creating things again...i was really missing it.
well, one of my favoritest card makers, dawn mcvey, has just started a "color challenge". i'm so happy that she has, and i wanted to make sure that i participated, especially for the first one. i used a verve stamp from the beautiful kindness set, raspberry fizz dp & ribbon and dark chocolate cs from papertreyink, two stampin' up! cs that i've had for a long time and i don't know what they're called, and the little butterfly paperclip is from memory makers. i had fun making this card and i hope you like it! be blessed!
