digi scrapbooking

well i finally broke down and attempted a digital scrapbooking page. i've been doing cards using "digi" papers and embellishments, but i've never done a scrapbook page. this is actually the very first scrapbook page i've done in any form. if it weren't for my friend jen's "scrappy sunday" challenge over on paper craft planet, i probably wouldn't have done one at all, ever.

i've made a few birthday cards recently, but they're a secret until i give them away. the recipients actually read my blog (i think). thanks for stopping by, and may your week be blessed!

saturday sketch challenge & spring break

i was finally able to complete a card for the saturday sketch challenge over at paper craft planet. it seems like forever since i've done one. i used digi papers again, so much fun! i forget where i got the kit, but it was free with any purchase, and it's called corina march sampler. i printed out all my elements individually and made the card like i would with 'regular' paper and embellies. i added some bling, ribbon from my scrap bag, a rub-on for the sentiment and i decoupaged a chipboard star with some of the red design paper. it's so nice to be creating things again...i was really missing it.

i have to share a picture of my little crafty girl, lily. she and her brother, ezra, will be with me 3 days this week, as their pre-school is closed for spring break. i made her a crafty bag filled with some of those things that i don't think i'll ever use but haven't been able to give up (isn't that silly? i know no one else has this problem). lily made a card that i didn't take a picture of, and gave it to ezra...he was quite thrilled. have a blessed week!

has it been 2 weeks?

omgoodness! has it been 2 weeks? i usually only work one day a week (it's rough but i make the sacrifice), but my boss was on vacation so i worked 3 days last week and the week before. also, miss lily had an ear infection last week, and we watched her most of the week. she's all better now, praise the LORD! here's a couple of pics of lily sleeping...that's henry watching over her, so cute!

i'm soooo excited! this is my first attempt at digi scrapping and i think it came out pretty darned good. mandy called me yesterday to make a baby shower card for her co-worker lori. they're surprising her tonight at mandy's place, and check this out, they're naming the baby harley danger! so, i wanted to do something with motorcycles and flames but i didn't know where to find paper and stuff. i went to jen tapler's blog (she's the digital queen!) and went to all the different digi sites to look for something appropriate. i didn't find anything with motorcycles, but i did find cars and bulldozers and all kinds of neat paper and embellishments. so i took the plunge and bought the kit, downloaded everything and i even figured out how to put it all in my iphoto. today i figured out how to use all this stuff with print shop and now i think i'm hooked! (aren't you proud of me, jen? i bet you're wiping the tears right now!) the 2nd pic is the inside of the card and the 3rd pic is the envelope. let me know what you think.

this second card is one that i started when i was on maui the end of february. this pretty flower stamp is from a stampin' up! set that sarah has and i love how the black versafine ink looks on the pti berry sorbet paper. i used a mother's day stamp from su! that i've had for a while and some black satin ribbon. although very simple, i love the way this card turned out. thank you for stopping by. be blessed!
