bad blogger

well, one of the reasons i haven't posted on my blog is because milton and i were on vacation. we went to lake tahoe with my uncle and aunt and stayed in their timeshare at incline village. it's on the north shore of lake tahoe and it was beautiful. the weather was nice and chilly. we were able to light a fire every night that we were there. this is the building we stayed in. there are 4 units in each building, like a townhouse.
and here we are, posing up above emerald bay. my uncle took us on a leisurely drive around the entire lake on sunday. it was so enjoyable. and did i mention that the weather was nice and cool, not hot and muggy like it had been at home. it was so nice not to sweat for a whole week.

i've been trying to hurriedly make stuff for the calvary chapel school craft fair that's happening next saturday and sunday...hurriedly because even though i've known about this fair since last year's fair, i'm still doing everything last minute. i do this every year. i always think i'm going to start early, i plan on it, i talk about it, i just don't do it. guess i'm not nike! anyway, here are two of the altered compositon books i made today. kinda cute, huh?
i will try to be better about posting...maybe!

it's world card making day!

happy world cardmaking day! woo hoo! a day just for us . . . i had planned on making cards all day today, until kim talked me into starting a farm on farmville (facebook). so now i'm a farmer, and totally loving it. so much fun, kinda addicting, kinda competitive (yuh, kim?) but i finally tore myself away from my farm long enough to make a card for my friend jana who lives in big bear, california. jana and sean had a baby boy, ean, back in july and he is so darned cute. the pic i used on the inside of the card makes me giggle every time i look at it. jana, if you see this on fb, i'll try really hard to mail it to you real soon.

in my last post i mentioned a journal/notebook i had started working on using a piece of paper from the memory works september kit that i absolutely loved. well i finally finished it, and here it is. i gotta admit, i love it! it's so "me". thanks for stopping by . . . go make a card!

i'm so 'cited!

i'm excited because i finally had a productive day in my craft room. i spent several hours in there and made a couple of sets of cards for a craft fair in november, and i made a card using julee's verve sketch challenge. i got the memory works september kit the other day and i just love everything in it. so when i decided to have some fun being creative for myself, i pulled out my new kit and printed out a copy of julee's sketch and had a blast. i can't remember the last time i had such a good time making a card...it was great! and i love the card (even the hubby liked it). here it is...i hope you like it too.
i even had time to almost finish a journal with this killer paper from "the kit". i'm glad you stopped by to visit...be blessed.

crafty sunday

milton and i spent the labor day weekend with the kids and grandkids on maui. we had a great time like we always do when we visit them. we got them the "wii fit" and it was so much fun. i didn't realize what a good workout you can get from that thing. i told milton that i want to get a "wii" and the "wii fit" and he seems to think that it won't be fun if just the two of us are using it. i actually think that i would use it regularly . . . i'll have to work on him a bit more i guess.
sarah and i got to go over to jen's to craft on sunday, and we all did karen giron's sweet sunday challenge #34. i used pti kraft cs, su! chocolate chip cs and dcwv dp and chipboard from "the green stack". i was only able to complete one card that day, kinda disappointing, but it took so long to try and put in a joann's order. jen was able to get an order in after a whole lot of waiting, but when it was my turn it became impossible to complete and i gave up. i was never able to complete an order, even when i tried tonight the server lost the connection. oh well . . . maybe it's for the best. don't forget to check out sarah's and jen's blogs, you won't be disappointed. thank you for stopping by. blessings!

mojo monday week 98

i've been feeling the mojo a little more lately, so i decided to do a "mojo monday" card this morning. i thought the circle would be the perfect space for one of my newish verve stamps, 1 Peter 5:7 (i love my verve stamps). i used bobunny alissa dp that i've had for a long time, still in the package, PTI black cs, and some black satin ribbon. i'm happy with the way it turned out...hope you like it too!

digi scrapbooking

well i finally broke down and attempted a digital scrapbooking page. i've been doing cards using "digi" papers and embellishments, but i've never done a scrapbook page. this is actually the very first scrapbook page i've done in any form. if it weren't for my friend jen's "scrappy sunday" challenge over on paper craft planet, i probably wouldn't have done one at all, ever.

i've made a few birthday cards recently, but they're a secret until i give them away. the recipients actually read my blog (i think). thanks for stopping by, and may your week be blessed!

this and that

it's been kind of a hectic last couple of weeks with mandy and the kids getting ready to move to maui. i went over with them to help out, and they are all moved in now. everyone is happy, especially lil and ez who now have a fenced back yard to play in, and a blow-up pool to "swim" in, and brand new bikes to ride on. auntie sarah and auntie titi are happy that their new housemates are finally there. sarah and the kids decided to form a band and they are calling themselves "the jammies" (get it? - jamming in their jammies).
i made a couple of cards last week for my sister, heather. i used last week monday's "mojo monday" sketch for both of them. i am going to try to get back to crafting every day and get a head start on getting things together for the calvary chapel craft fair in december. i've gotten lazy lately, and i need to get motivated again. thanks for stopping by. be blessed!
